PostSecret is an ongoing art project created by Frank Warren. Within this project people mail Frank their secrets anonymously on a home-made postcard. Selected secrets are then posted on the PostSecret website every Sunday.Every day dozens of postcards with intimate secrets still make their way to Warren, with postmarks from around the world,touching on every aspect of human experience.
Not only is this an ongoing art project,Warren has worked tirelessly as a volunteer and advocate for HopeLine, a suicide-prevention organization, and believes that by sharing our deepest secrets, we are able to heal ourselves and serve our communities.
I find this website, and the entire concept behind it, inspirational. Not only does each postcard hold an entire life and story behind it, they're done so creatively that it encourages other to get involved. Also, by doing this, it offers hope to people who need it, and it also does incredible work with the prevention of suicide, a topic very close to my heart.
